What is Exercise Therapy Fundamentals?

A Gentle Introduction to Exercise

Exercise Therapy Fundamentals is designed for those new to structured exercise or returning after a break. Each session helps you reconnect with your body, improve basic strength and balance, and develop confidence in safe movement.

If you’ve never done formal exercise before — or if it’s been a while — this class offers the perfect starting point. Rooted in Pilates principles, it lays the foundation for more targeted strength and conditioning in the future.

The details

Supportive and Supervised From the Start

All participants complete an initial one-to-one assessment to set goals, establish a baseline, and identify any risks. Classes are led in a physiotherapy setting with supervision and individual adaptations as needed.

Duration: 45 minutes

Format: Small group, physiotherapist-led

Frequency: weekly in 8 to 12 week blocks
(plus 1 contingency week)

Initial Requirement: One-to-one assessment before joining

Osteopenia or Osteoporosis are scary prospects for any person diagnosed with these conditions. The idea of not moving at all in case of causing a fracture is not a good formula for living life to the full. What Sinead’s classes offer is evidence based and well-structured bone health training. We work on balance, strength and conditioning with a focus on being able to function well and safely in all our daily activities.
