I’m better at pacing, and at managing my severe, chronic pain.

I’ve required extensive physiotherapy due to a life a chronic injuries/illness from complex Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and for rehabilitation after 12 surgeries (4 on my spine) over the last 8 years. It’s been a challenging path. Sinead supported me through all of this. I continue to strengthen by taking her classes and following a goal-oriented plan we co-created. I need motivation and focus, which I get from participating in her classes. Sinead explains all exercises in relationship to our daily activities – with a special interest to keep us active as we age. As I deconditioned, Sinead as placed me in the appropriate class for my development, and when pain or injury limit us, she finds alternative ways to accomplish the exercises. For me, she recommends resistance to help me feel tension – the feedback I’m not getting from my hypermobile joints, nerves, muscles, ligaments, etc. With Sinead’s observation and advice, I’m better at pacing, and at managing my severe, chronic pain.

Thank you, Sinead!

Forming a plan was the turning point in getting strong and well.

I would like to recommend Sinead Curran as an excellent and knowledgeable physiotherapist. A few years ago I was in a spot of trouble with very painful and debilitating issues due to osteoporosis. Having a one to one consultation and forming a plan was the turning point in getting strong and well . Sinead has the interest and knowledge and with correct exercises for all injuries but particularly in older people.

Evidence based and well-structured bone health training

Osteopenia or Osteoporosis are scary prospects for any person diagnosed with these conditions. The idea of not moving at all in case of causing a fracture is not a good formula for living life to the full.

What Sinead’s classes offer is evidence based and well-structured bone health training. We work on balance, strength and conditioning with a focus on being able to function well and safely in all our daily activities.

I personally know that I am getting stronger every week and have much more endurance for example when working in the garden. Things that I lift feel light these days when before they would have felt heavy. I now think about how to lift something safely. I wish I had considered strength training when I was younger, even though I was always fit, I really lacked strength.
