I’ve required extensive physiotherapy due to a life a chronic injuries/illness from

complex Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and for rehabilitation after 12 surgeries (4 on my spine) over the last 8 years. It’s been a challenging path. Sinead supported me through all of this. I continue to strengthen by taking her classes and following a goal-oriented plan we co-created. I need motivation and focus, which I get from participating in her classes. Sinead explains all exercises in relationship to our daily activities – with a special interest to keep us active as we age. As I deconditioned, Sinead as placed me in the appropriate class for my development, and when pain or injury limit us, she finds alternative ways to accomplish the exercises. For me, she recommends resistance to help me feel tension – the feedback I’m not getting from my hypermobile joints, nerves, muscles, ligaments, etc. With Sinead’s observation and advice, I’m better at pacing, and at managing my severe, chronic pain.

Thank you, Sinead!

Sinead Curran has been part of my (arthritic )life for the past number of years. Her understanding of the condition [arthritis] and the many ways it can be “ aided and abetted” is invaluable. I have participated in Sinead’s Bone Health classes for the last few years. I consider them a MUST for anyone over 60 where the meaning of Strength, Balance and Movement become all too clear. The old adage of “Move it or Lose it” is a mantra I have adopted through Sinead’s deep understanding of the ageing process....a source of great consolation when I hit challenging times.

I am so happy to have discovered Sinead’s Fit and Well class. For me this class has improved my muscle strength, movement and balance and thus I have  become more physically active. This class also gives me a great feeling of well being. The class is suitable for all levels of exercise as Sinead modifies and adapts each exercise to every individual need. Thank you so much Sinead!

I would like to recommend Sinead Curran as an excellent and knowledgeable physiotherapist.   A few years ago I was in a spot of trouble with very painful and debilitating issues due to osteoporosis. Having a one to one consolation and forming a plan was the turning point in getting strong and well . Sinead has the interest and knowledge and with correct exercises for all injuries but particularly in older people.

Thank You.

Osteopenia or Osteoporosis are scary prospects for any person diagnosed with these conditions. The idea of not moving at all in case of causing a fracture is not a good formula for living life to the full.

What Sinead’s classes offer is evidence based and well-structured bone health training. We work on balance, strength and conditioning with a focus on being able to function well and safely in all our daily activities.

I personally know that I am getting stronger every week and have much more endurance for example when working in the garden. Things that I lift feel light these days when before they would have felt heavy. I now think about how to lift something safely. I wish I had considered strength training when I was younger, even though I was always fit, I really lacked strength.

I have spinal 'wear and tear' issues at C5/C6 and C6/C7, this manifests itself as neck pain but even more so as arm and shoulder pain with (in the past) numbness going down the arm. My MRI indicated I have narrowing of the nerve canals in places. However, the symptoms are much improved since I started doing pilates and  bone health classes. I'm sure strengthening my arm muscles is vital to this improvement as well as gently exercising my neck/shoulders. Vital also has been the awareness of neck position that pilates has given me.

This course is a really good introduction to pilates, Sinead explains everything very clearly. I feel I got a great foundation and the knowledge to get the basics right and understand the exercises very well. I have been coming for a few years and lower back pain has definitely improved.

I look forward to the Bone Strength Class each week. Sinead keeps the class lively and interesting and keeps the momentum going all during the class. I started doing the class in the Studio and now I find that Sinead has adapted the class on line very successfully.

She always encourages us to keep fit and well by being active and doing our exercises.

I have been attending Sinéad's Bone Health classes for a long time now and they have made a huge difference to both my strength and balance. Sinéad's special interest in bone health and ageing shows in her approach to exercising safely for us seniors.

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 3 years ago. I'm on medication for it. About 6 months after my diagnosis, I attended Sinead for an assessment and joined her bone health classes. I find them very beneficial as I had the old fashioned idea that, once I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, I could not do certain jobs in case I'd do damage to myself.

With Sinéad’s direction there's nothing I can't do. The thinking has totally changed now and Sinead is excellent at keeping us informed about any new information out there. So besides doing exercises she also chats during the class to keep us up to date.

During the pandemic she set up Zoom classes which really kept us in condition.

I joined Sinead’s “Bone Health Class” a couple of years ago.  My motivation for this was that there was a history of Osteoporosis in my family and I had reached the Osteopenia stage myself.

Firstly, I would like to say that the class is so much more than the resistance training and weight bearing exercises that I had expected as Sinéad is also preparing everyone to be physically active and living independently into ripe old age.

I feel so much stronger physically since I commenced the classes and I’m amazed at how much easier many of the exercises have become.

Our classes have moved to Zoom because of Covid restrictions and I’m really happy to say that the change has not affected the quality of the classes in the slightest.

Sinéad is an excellent motivator and explains how each exercise can benefit our daily lives while encouraging us to progress at our own pace.  She has a wonderful ability to get the best out of each person in her class while she effortlessly co-ordinates various levels of the same exercise.

I highly recommend Sinéad’s classes and I’m really grateful for my twice weekly exercise routine.
